Shock and Strut Repair at Tri-Valley Automotive, Dublin Ca.

When it feels like your car or truck is on the open ocean, bounding over every bump in the road, or if it rattles you teeth out, maybe it’s time for new shocks or struts.

When you bounce your car, what your bouncing against is the springs supporting the car. What keeps those springs under control is the shocks or struts. We can use those terms interchangeably because they do the same thing. The only difference is the design.

Worn shocks or struts can cause tire wear problems as well as making you sea-sick. They are also a critical component in the way the car handles or maneuvers. Worn struts can cause the car to lean too much in a corner, or the car won’t respond quickly during an emergency maneuver, causing you to loose control…not good.

Most shocks or struts start losing some of their effectiveness at around 100,000 miles. You may not have noticed the change because they wear quite slowly. when we inspect your car, one of the things we look for is leaking at the shocks and struts. this is a good indication they are shot.

If you think you may have a problem, let us inspect the car for you. We also will drive the car to see how it feels. Give us a call at (925) 828-1700 to schedule an appointment or click the button below to schedule an appointment online.
